What i learned

What I took out of this project is the history and all the diffrent player postions and a whole lot of info. I will use this knowlege and make it benefit me in playing football because I now know how to play the rules. I will also teach other people in the community so that they will have a better understanding of the remix rugby game now known to people all over America as football

Hawaiian Connection

The Hawaiian Connection to Football is the Makahiki Game known as Ihe or Spear throwing. In Ihe you would have to throw your spear and hit a banana stump. This is just like in football where the Quaterback has to throw the football and hit his recivers ofr whoever he is throwing it to.

Football also engages in some core values to Hawaii: Lau lima, kulia ika nuu, Malama kekahi i kekahi.

Player Positions

Offense:

Quaterback: The resposibilities of the Quarterback is that they mostly pass to the wide recivers and tight ends

Running back: Running backs mostly run the ball and catch the ball

Wide Recivers: Wides mostly catch the deep and short passes

Tght ends: Tight ends mostly catch the ball on 3rd down or in the redzone

Offensive line: these Big kahunas protect the bliz and create holes for the running back

Defense:

Cornerbacks: Corners gaurd the wide recivers and the deep play

Safties: Safeties either defend the deep play or double team a wide reciver with the corenerback.

Linebackers: Linebackers watch the tight end and the running back or they rush the quarterback for the sack or stop thhe run play

Defensive line: the Line stops the run play or sacks the Quarterback

Special Teams:

Punter: Punts the ball on 4th down

Long snapper: the center that hikes the ball to the punter(may not be the same center on the offense).

Field Goal Kicker: Kicks field goals, PATs, and kick offs

Place kicker: places the ball for the field goal kicker so he can kick the ball.

History

IT all started in 20th century England when a soccer player who was sick and tired of moving the ball with his feet, decided to pick up the ball and run it in for a score. Even though it was against the rules the other players got caught on to the idea and invented the game called Rugby. This new sport soon found its way to America by the mid 1800s and was played mosly by college students. Soon enough Harvard and Yale University came together and modified the rules of Rugby and changed the ball from round to eggshaped. During this time they changed the name of the sport from rugby to football, and at the same time made a new group called the Intercolligate Football Association also known as IFA.

Football: Then and Now

Football is a contact sport. The objective of the game is that you have to score more points than the oppossing team. There are three player teams in football: Offense, Defense, and Special Teams. The Offense tries to score points which are called touchdowns or gain yards in the time alloted. The Defense tries to prevent the Offense from scoring or gaining yardage. Then there is Special Teams where thier job is to score field goals, PATs(points after touchdown) and punt to the other team on a 4th down. Please Enjoy this Blog.
